So if I have an iMac12,2 (what the Apple System Profiler says I have) then I’m looking for parts for an iMac12,2. I’m not interested in an EMC number, something I never heard of, where I might get it wrong and that’ll be ‘my’ fault for ordering the wrong part. Or I can get it from elsewhere for less. I’d prefer to get it from iFixIt as a thank you for the excellent guides, but not if I have to play a stupid game.
iFixit is not the one playing games. That’s corporate Apple. The 12,2 designation helps but only narrows it down to three machines. All Mid 2011 27". But there were three machines with the 12,2 designation. They have different processors. I have changed your machine icon to your machine.
