I dropped my phone yesterday and I am now unable to charge my phone past 5%. It also crashes and reboots itself and when it does this the battery has gone down to 1%
I see two possibilities here. The battery may be partially disconnected or the connector may be damagedYou may have damaged the logic board (charge circuit) with the drop. Open up your device and closely inspect the battery flex and connector. If you don’t see any issues, you can use a USB Ammeter to determine if the phone is really drawing current when it says it’s charging. If it’s charging okay, at least short term, then use a battery utility, such as coconutBattery (for Mac) or 3uTools (for Windows) to test the battery prior to removal. Anything less than 75% of design capacity will require replacement. You could also try to replace the battery regardless as that is the weakest link in the phone. However if the battery is not the issue, then I would suspect the charge circuit circuit on the logic board to be damaged.
