One of my PS4’s USB ports is loose and doesn’t charge controllers unless I hold the USB cable and angle it upward. I’ve looked inside the port on the from of the PS4 and the 4th pin, furthest to the right is bent upward. I’ve tried to stick an iPhone sim tool in there but there’s no way I can get underneath the pin to angle it back down. Is it an easy fix just to replace the whole USB port?
Unfortunately, this is not an easy fix. The only good way to fix it permanently is to replace the USB port. Both ports are molded together and are soldered to the motherboard so the only way to fix them is to desolder them and solder in new ones. I’ve done a couple of these but it would not be a repair that the average person could do.
