so my toshiba satellite keeps getting hot (Really hot) from a few hours of use i havent cleaned out my laptop in a few years or so, i found this tutorial wherein i can clean the fan and the heating grill with a brush, but my question is. do i have to reapply thermal paste if i take apart the cooling system? and if not is there a safer way to do it other than taking apart my entire PC just to remove dust bunnies from the fan and or the exhaust grill?
Remove cover locate fan there should be a couple of screws securing fan remove fan use a can of blowout to clean heat sink and fan.
@maxushero you should not have to routinely change the thermal paste, but if your computer is/has been overheating and you are going to resolve that, I suggest that you replace the thermal paste as well. Get it done ones and get it done right. No shortcuts for the disassembly. Use the guides.
