Hi there, I sell over 200 ipods per month, some are faulty some are working, is there a way to test the battery of all ipod devices quickly, say for examplpe a gadget you can link up through the usb port or a computer program? rather than charging them up and leaving them, as when dealing with 200 this will be extremely time consuming thanks David

I have not cvome across one, and I ’ve been looking for something for a while. There was a hack on hackaday.com a while back about that as well. The problem is that most people just use a voltmeter and make the assumption that if the voltage is good the battery must be good, which is not necessarily true. So in order to truly test the battery it needs to be taken into consideration that the battery condition is also dependent on : battery connector battery fuse battery charge and discharge FETs battery cell pack battery sense resistor battery primary and secondary protection ICs battery fuel-gauge battery thermistor and probably more. There is more great info on here So I guess you could build one or just replace the batteries when you sell the iPod’s.
