Chosen Solution

I found an iPhone and want to know what if it’s AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint etc. Is there any way to figure that out?

Open up the phone settings, then general, then, about, scroll down to see (carrier), it will say AT&T or Sprint or whatever carrier it is locked to.

Just take it to the Apple store. They will provide a SIM card free of charge. They can easily tell which carrier it is locked to.

Use 3UTools. You will at least get the region of purchase and might be able to obtain the carrier info there.

On an iPhone 5, the IMEI is on the back of the phone at the bottom, or you can hit the “I” icon in the lower right corner of the screen. If the IMEI begins with 990, then it is Sprint in the USA, as the Verizon variant would take any sim. If it begins with a zero, then its AT&T or T-Mobile. After narrowing down the carrier just go to one of those stores and ask them to put a sim in it to check.

Open the Settings app on the iPhone and choose ‘General’ and then go to “About” Scroll down to find the following two items in the list, these may be different: Network: This is the currently active network if one is available – this is not necessarily what the device will be locked to however, it’s only what cell network it is actively connected to – this will show as blank if there is no active network or no SIM card Carrier: This is what you’re looking for to show you what network the iPhone last used, and in most cases, what network the iPhone is actually locked to. Carrier will also show the carrier settings version, sometimes carrier updates arrive separately from the general iOS software version to enable certain functionality Check cellular carrier on the iPhone even without a SIM card or cell service
