Sorry guy square peg, round hole problem ;-{ The 970 is a M.2 drive as well as being a PCIe/NVMe drive, it won’t even work in your system as your system is strictly SATA based. Here’s a useful diagram
Your system is legacy the Red path on the left. You’ll need to return it and get either a larger Samsung 860 EVO 2.5" SSD or a second 2.5" SSD to satisfy your storage needs using the Optical drive carrier
This is what you need, also includes a cable for using the superdrive as external source: Unibody Laptop Dual Drive
That unibody dual drive doesn’t look like it will work with this…
