Hi everyone! I was wondering if you know any tutorial teaching how to make a RAID 0 with 2x SSD. Currently I have one 500GB Samsung 850 EVO with OS X High Sierra (last version) installed and the original HDD I’m using as backup HD. After place the 2x SSD I’ll need to reinstall the OS X? I heard that if I remove the HDD from its original place the fans go loud. So its just a matter of place? **I mentioned the Samsung SSD because I already got one Installed, probably I’ll use a similar for the RAID 0. Anyway, if anyone can help me by sending tutorial links with informations, images and tools needed for the exchange, I will be very grateful. My specs: iMac Intel 21.5" EMC 2428 Model A1311 / Mid 2011 / 2.7 GHz Core i5 2500s Processor / 32GB RAM Best regards, Johnny
Sell your system and buy a iMac Pro ;-} You can’t make a real RAID here as the I/O’s between the HD SATA port and the blade SSD are not the same data rate. If it were they you could do it! The best you can do is create a Fusion Drive.
