I got the home button parts to repair my iPhone 5c, but neither the button bracket nor the ribbon are the problems. After taking it to the Apple Genius bar they say that one of the two pin connectors that is on the logic board (not on the screen/glass), is broken and thus why my home button doesn’t work. Has anyone successfully repaired these pins? Apple’s response is to offer a trade-in rather than fix it. Just mulling my options. For now I’m using the assist setting as my makeshift home button. Much thanks in advance for any advice.

These two pins are actually connected to the charging dock ribbon. It is definitely replacable and is not on the logic board. You can buy the part from here: iPhone 5c Lightning Connector and Headphone Jack Replacement / Repair guide here: iPhone 5c Lightning Connector Assembly Replacement
