Replaced HD in iMac, but how can I recover the data off the damaged HD?
Remove the drive and use either an external enclosure or a universal adapter. Plug it into another computer and drag and drop. Go for your user data first as sometimes you only get one shot. Next you can try running Disk Utility to repair it or more sophistication repair programs such as Tech Tool Pro. [linked product missing or disabled: IF107-108-1]
