I have found some good speakers, and can run wires from my TV to the otherside of the room through the basement. Can I connect them directly to the TV? If so what type of wire should I use. I have speaker wire but I am not sure if that is the right wire. Do the speakers have to be hooked up to a power source? Unemployed and board. Thanks, Jan
Well Jan, whether or not the speakers can be directly connected to your TV depends on your TV. Does it have the necessary outputs for speaker connections? If not, most likely you’ll need a Audio Receiver, which you can connect to the TV and have the speakers connected to the receiver. the latter option will provide better sound output as well.
