I have no where near enough room and I just want more. I would prefer someone else to do so but I don’t know where. Any input?

Hi there, Under the laptop there is usually 1 or 2 small hatches with a few screws. One usually houses RAM, the other the hard drive. Unscrew the screws securing the hard drive and replace with a new one. You will then need a windows install disc handy to reinstall the operating system. Good Luck

Hi pinedajomer, Here is a link that shows X205T screen replacement. It may be useful to look at. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUjSLvBY

All report say that the X205TA has everything SOLDERED in place. No user serviceable, etc.. Ps.. Avoid the BIOS UPDATE, it bricks them

Pretty simple. You can use the microSD card to store all your important files. And also install any apps. Works with windows 8 and windows 10! http://www.pcworld.com/article/2931453/h

is there anybody do, open their asus x205ta bottom plate just to see what it looks like? im also interested if this machine can also upgrade ssd..

My missus’ ASUS netbook HDD started going south after a mere 14 months. We had to have Geek Squad replace the 1TB Seagate HDD with a 120GB SSD. They didn’t carry the same drive that came out, or one that would fit. Yeah, she lost a considerable amount of storage space. But for a netbook, 120GB is more than sufficient for her… email, some word processing and Excel stuff. Besides, it’s 4-5 times faster when booting up. BTW, we’ll never buy another ASUS!
