I went ahead and ordered a replacement battery, and followed the instructions. Unfortunately I damaged the ZIF socket on the trackpad circuit board and need to replace that as well. Question: the battery is just a week old. I need to remove the adhesive and remove the new battery. What adhesive can I use when I place it back in? Is it dangerous to do so and should I just buy a new battery even though this one is brand new?
You can get some double sided tape to glue it down. Or you can order the adhesive for the battery by itself when you order the track pad. A lot of places sell the adhesive strips. But double sided tape will work fine.
