Chosen Solution
I recently took my ps4 apart to replace the optical drive, now the touch sensor, both power and disc tray sensor, are unresponsive to touch.
There are several things that could have happened here.
- You’ll need to first check to make sure the plastic covers all line up correctly. If they don’t then the contacts might not be touching.
- Inside the plastic case pieces there are metal pieces that connect the buttons to metal pads on the motherboard and the optical drive board. If these metal pieces are bent then they might not be contacting those metal pads and that can cause the problem.
- The power supply may not be connected properly. If the power supply is not connected properly then it’s possible that your PS4 is just not getting the power it needs from the power supply. The two large metal prongs need to be connected right and the 4 or 5 pin connector from the power supply to the motherboard also needs to be connected properly. If either of these are not hooked up all the way it can cause the power supply to not be able to send power to the motherboard. I hope this helps…good luck!
