I would always unplug my PS3 40gb and take to my friend’s house. But recently the picture will only stay on the television if the cable for the AV multi slot is in a certain position. If i remove it from that position it takes about 20min to find the “sweet spot”. Now my PS3 is stuck in a uncomfortable position in my home and if I move I’m worried that I will forever lose the signal. I don’t have ab HDMI cable but that slot works perfectly fine, thats the slot I use when I go to my friends house. Help?

It sounds like the solder connections between the socket and the motherboard have cracked and are making intermittent contact. Unfortunately, the only proper fix for this is to take it completely apart in order to resolder the socket to the motherboard. This requires a fair amount of skill, since the motherboard is pretty well encased in between many components. Perhaps its time to upgrade to a TV with HDMI. You can get them fairly cheaply these days. Oh, and in the future, always try to pull plugs straight out without a lot of sideways wiggling.
