Chosen Solution
Hi to all Yesterday i opened my mac to clean a little bit of dust located on the fans and everything.. Once i did that when i tried to have a call with a friend on skype the microphone dont even worked :( … Before i cleaned it was perfect.. so i was wondering if anyone here could help me .. and sorry for my english im from colombia here’s my mail thanks julianm2racing@hotmail.com
How did u clean your machine? Compressed air, or something else? If you used compressed air, I highly doubt you fouled anything up. Now try to make another Skype call and on the bottom left of the corner make sure the mic Icon is set to active. If all is good there, then go to System Preferences > Sounds > Input and then highlight internal mic and play some music or talk and see if your MIC picks up the sounds. If that doesn’t help then we can look into the hardware.
I have the same problem, a guy repair my mac n my microphone was off, I thought that was a problem, but the fixer tryed to steal it, but after put again it still not working. Therefore I’m afraid of going there again, I don’t know what he can steal more. So now I know the part in my mac where is set the microphone. What can i do, to have it working again?
