I repair iPhones, I’ve been recomended to use an esd bracelet. I want to start using it… but all the guides on the internet require me to connect it to a pc chassis or a psu power supply please help
Hi, Does your workbench have metal legs or a metal frame? Hook a permanent wire connection from a known earth point such as the earth in a power outlet (if your power outlets have them and not just the 2 pin line and neutral connection) or from a water pipe or even a metal stake driven about 2-3 feet into the ground outside, to the workbench metal frame or leg and then connect the ESD wriststrap’s alligator clip to the frame or leg when you go to work on devices. If connecting the wriststrap to a metal leg you may have to make a suitable clip connection point like a self tapping screw half into the leg etc - or if connecting to the frame ensure that it connects to an unpainted surface - nice and shiny metal.
