This Macbook Pro 13” 2017 had a particularly strange drive I need to get data off. For the life of me I cannot find an enclosure or adapter for it. Anyone seen anything like that? Or am I going to have to buy another machine to get at the data?

You are absolutely justified in your pain. Apple giving us no recourse to recover data is total disregard for the needs of their customers. Please join us to help secure your rights: https://ifixit.org/right @kyle Is there any other recourse that you are aware of?

Sadly, its a custom Apple SSD! So far I don’t know of any case or adapter to support it so you can access the data on it. But with that said! You do have one other option renting or buying another 13” MacBook Pro Fn system and carefully sliding out the SSD so you can plug yours in then using an external drive coming the data off. Do make sure you’ve fully powered down the system before removing the SSD so you don’t damage it.

Hi, I have a MacBook Pro 2017 (Function keys) and I had an accident (water dropping) and the screen and connections are damaged. I couldn’t find affordable fixing, so right now is broken but the SSD works. I bought a Lenovo A340-24IWL and I’d like to know if is possible to put the SSD from my broken MacBook Pro on this Lenovo A340? Do you have some enclosure or adapter to use this SSD on a PC? Thank you very much for your response!!!
