Hi everybody. I have an iphone 6 with broken home button. As I’ve read that missing original home button leads to error while update I’m interested in one thing. In my case only the button is broken of the little ribbon and ribbon is still in place with its little chip in the middle on ribbon. So my question is will this ribbon connected be enough not to take my phone to error state. This may be a stupid question since I’m no tehnicion but the ribbon has a chip in the middle of it and I’m wondering is that enough not to get stuck with error while doing an update.
There is no chip on the ribbon, just a few passive components. In order for this to work, you need the chip inside the button.
i don’t think so… If I were you, I’d take it to apple. See what they say. Pretty sure you won’t get the error. Unless you put an aftermarket button on there
the same thing happened to my brother and he taped the hole with duct tape , wnet into settings and got up the home button help . hope it helps if not sorry but tried :)
