Ive replaced the dock connector and the battery in my iphone 5s and now the home button wont work whilst the touch id works perfectly… i tried the old dock connector again to see if the new one was faulty but to no avail, urgently in need of an answer, thanks!
You’ve broken your home button during the repair. You can replace it, but your Touch ID won’t work, and don’t update, or you’ll get error 53 (a bricked iPhone). You can keep he original and use assistive touch, or you can replace the home button without Touch ID. If you replace the home button. Keep the original one, so you can update it. I would try a settings reset with the new dock before calling it quits.
