I got my vibration motor replaced after it stopped working but after installing that and putting it all back together I relised my home bitton doesnt work at all. Ive tried the usual resetting it and making sure all connections are on but its still bot working. I did find a wee nick in the cable going from the lightning and audio jack to the motherboard and was wondering if thats the problem. I have also made sure that its not the ribbon cable going from the home button to the cable conection on the phone
Flex cables don’t need much damage to be rendered defective. If you can see a wee nick, chances are it has damaged one of the traces that run along the edge of the flex. Take a look again but under magnification to see how damaged the flex is. You could easily replace the flex to eliminate that variable.
