So this iPhone 5S I received in with a home button problem. The button is working intermittently, it is hit or miss, sometimes it will work for a full 2 minutes then it will be off for 5 sec then working again for 30 sec and then off for a minute, there is no pattern, just hit or miss. Touch ID is still functioning perfect. I have never seen this issue before. *My question is, is there any way I can fix this homebutton so I can keep Touch ID? * I have other homebuttons I can replace it with and this does fix the homebutton issue, but as we all know you lose Touch ID function if you replace the homebutton. What I have tried: 1Reconnecting Cable 2 Connected New home button fixes home function but obviously you lose Touch ID Anyways any help troubleshooting at all would be appreciated.

This applies to the 5s home button use the aftermarket to put it on the original one.
so its actually the pressure contact which is at fault perhaps. when you look at the reverse of the home button you will see the metal springy pressure dome. you can remove this (its just kinda stuck on) and clean or i usually just replace the dome from a donor home button. probably best to remove from donor button first so you have grasp for how to remove without accidentally screwing up your original
hi.. try cleaning the dome.. the one thats bouncing at the back of the home button
