Hi there, Sorry if it was here around, I was going through some of the posts but haven’t seen the exact same problem. Basically, I just replaced the screen on iPhone 6s and it works perfectly except the home button. Also, when I turn an iPhone it’s disabled and gives the count of one hour to try again. ( Note: iPhone was off for around a month as I was waiting for the screen from iFixit and screen was damaged very badly so it was impossible to use the phone so I had to force it off) I’ve followed the instructions step by step, unplugged the power cable and all of the others on the way, assembled the phone exactly as in the instructions. The only difference between original and replacement screen I found is that the replacement screen has it’s home button plug a bit lose. just wondering.. even if there is the 3d problem, the home button should be working anyway? Is there is a way to transfer home button cable and what the hassle? Thanks .
I’ve noticed a few 6s aftermarket screens have malfunctioning home button cables, not sure why but it seems a large scale manufacturing issue. Don’t know what to recommend exactly besides screen replacement, but if you’re of the daring kind you may try removing the cable from the old screen to check if your home button is properly functioning..it won’t be easy as it is a potentially destructive procedure but you have little to lose there. If it works fine you may fix the cable behind the metal shield and snip the faulty cable ends..it won’t be a perfect job but it should do. As for the phone disabled, a broken digitizer might press digits on its own and wrongfully insert passcodes..either you wait for the retry time or put the phone into DFU and restore, but you’d be losing all data.
