Chosen Solution
I have a 3GS and my home button is not working properly, so i opened the phone and i saw the j3 connectors, the ones in the dock connector part were the problem. One of them was in a good shape, what i mean it was gold colored, the other one not so much so i grabbed my screw driver and try to remove this silver kinda thing but i made it worse as you can see in the picture, is something i can do to repair, cuz i know is not making contact, that’s why my home button is not working property thanks Can i solder it??
any chance of a photo or a better explanation of where you have damaged? is it the gold prongs on bottom of home button or on the dock connector. there are quite a few gold and silver things!
