The left hinge connecting the screen with the base is missing a connector (screw?) and opening and/or closing the screen pries up the top of the keyboard. There is a hole in the bottom of the base under the hinge which is missing whatever it was that made the connection between the base/keyboard and the screen. I need to know what it is that is missing and where I can find a replacement part. Thanks!.
Hi, Here is a link to the service manual. Scroll to p.57, I think that shows the screws you are talking about. https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mob…
It is a well known design flaw. Do a bit of Google searching, even Lenovo’s own forums have several threads on it. Mine was replaced after 30 months, the replacement has just failed after 22 months. This product does not last.
Hi there. i know this is answered a few times, but i spent the time, and found the figure for the back panel screws. here you go. http://tinypic.com/r/24px9ol/9
I called Lenovo tech support, which gave me the part number for the screw. I was transferred to parts, where I was told it was out of stock for at least 3 more weeks, and it’d cost $11.98. For one tiny screw. That probably fell out when I sent it in for repair last year and it was 4 months before they sent it back. Once I’m sure the correct screw is included in a stupid bulk bag for $10 and arrive in 4 days, I’ll get it. Then, I’ll never buy a Levono laptop again!!!!
