Chosen Solution

I have the “Crucial MX500 2TB 3D NAND SATA 2.5 Inch Internal SSD” and would like to put it in my Apple iMac 27-Inch “Core i5” 3.4 (Identifiers: Late 2013 - ME089LL/A - iMac14,2 - A1419 - 2639). I’ve been reading a lot about how to do this and have a few questions. What is the thermal sensor and is there one that I need to use specifically with the Crucial SSD?Is there a special adhesive to use that won’t have issues in the future of the screen falling off? (This scares me the most)Some people say that the bracket that comes with the Crucial SSD doesn’t work, is that the case or do I need to get another bracket to hold the new SSD in place? Thank you!

Here’s how to convert it to a 2.5” SSDS. Use the adhesive strips: iMac Intel 27" EMC 2639 Hard Drive Replacement UPDATE Sometimes you really have to look at all the information in the guide.

  1. Thermal Sensor https://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/DIDI
  2. Adhesive strips: [linked product missing or disabled: IF174-005-1]
  3. You just need a 3.5” to 2.5” adapter. It does not have to be a fancy one or need a plug in. The OWC adapter plugs right into it.
