Recently just picked up a replacement backplate for my OG Switch. Everything was going good until the two middle screws on the joycon rail and the screw near the charging port stripped. I’ve tried everything, but nothing will get them out. I’ve seen this screw extractor kit and was wondering if this would get the job done? Precision Screw Extractor Set
Hi @aminich887, I don’t have that extractor set, but I have used similar ones with some success. My go-to method currently (if it’s just small screws in phones or tablets) is to just plop a blob of solder on the screw head, then heat the tip if a quality screwdriver / bit (I have one I use purposely for just this) and then let it melt into the solder. After it hardened again, I give it 5 seconds extra, and then see if that does the job. This makes for easy extraction I find, as it also “seats” the screwdriver to the screw so I can apply gentle upwards pressure.
