so i put my phone to charge overnight and i woke up to it being very hot and totally blacked out.. its been about 5—6 hours since ive noticed and ive been trying the lock and volume (-) button trick but its not working.. i have horrible luck with phones PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help !
Has anything happened to the phone recently, such as a drop, repair or contact with water? It sounds like there was some internal damage to the phone, probably due to the charging. It could be a spontaneous failure or it could be related to a poor quality charging brick and cable. It’s best to only use Apple or MFi certified chargers. If you are using a quality charger and nothing else has happened to the phone, then it may just be a spontaneous failure of some modular or board-level component. Ideally you will need some quality or known-good replacement parts to do some proper troubleshooting. If you don’t want to but parts up front, consider having this looked at by an independent repair shop.
