Was wondering if anyone could help me narrow down the problem with by PS4. Here is the details: the PS4 for the most part will beep, blue light will come on for a second then cut off. If you do this often enough it will then start alternate with a beep with no light and then a beep with blue light then cut off and then beep with nothing again. Sometimes the blue light will stay lit but nothing happens. Also every once in awhile it will come on and work for 2 mins or so and the screen will flicker and change color(think like lines of rainbows across the screen) then after like 2 mins the screen will go blank and the PS4 will apparently cut off but the white light will stay on. So many things going on I don’t know what it is. Edit: For the most part it seems to alternate between the “beep, then blue light then turns off” then “beep with nothing happening” in that order over and over. When it does work it’s usually when I turn it on it’s side or upside down and put pressure on the bottom of it. When it turns on once in a blue moon the picture is weird and the sound is distorted. I was thinking PSU but would that make the picture and sound weird?

You’ve just got the classic turning on then back off problem that lots of PS4’s have been stricken with. It’s either a problem with the APU or the joints between the APU and motherboard. There is a DIY fix that you can try that will most likely work in your case. There’s no way to know how long it will last, but with your symptoms it would probably last quite a while. As you’ve already found it’s not the power supply. For anyone else reading this if you have these symptoms it’s not your power supply. The power supply is very, very rarely the fix for a PS4 that turns on then back off. Here’s the guide

Hi, I never test a PS4, but this device is “new”, looks like a power failure, maybe you should test it with a different power supply, I think the device is not getting the right ammount of “amps”.
