My headphone jack stopped working the other day, so i bought a new lightning dock/headphone jack and installed with no problems, but the headphone jack is still unresponsive to any type of 3.5mm cable. Before you ask, yes i am experienced and i have taken apart and repaired multiple iphone 5, 4, 4s, etc. is there some kind of connector or grounding cable im missing?

Could be solved by a restore if files are corrupt just a thought as far as I know there is no grounding clips or anything involving the dock I know the little washers are under the dock but think they are there for spacing

Same problem a couple of months ago. I would open the phone and check to make sure that there is not bent pins or broken off pieces in the jack.

I also ran into a friends problem with the same thing, ended up being bent pins on the connector on the logic board. if it’s that then you’ll have to decide how bad you need a headphone jack.

You may want to try this before anything else: I turned my phone off for 10 minutes and then turned it back on. It’s working perfectly.
