Solved Have To Replace Quad Core Processor But Have Am3 Dual Core Motherboard And Cpu

When doing a clean up of my desktop hardware I accidently put the quad core processor in the wrong way and bent many pins. I have an extra dual core processor that will work. What will I need to do to make sure my system runs smoothly?

Just make sure it is put in correctly and it should work fine. Try to bend back the old CPU pins to see if they will go back into place.
