Hey. Found at my Late ‘12 iMac normal but empty slot for SSD flash storage. got some research but not found exact answers.. Is that slot compatible only with PCIe disks or it’s support mSATA too?

Here’s a good writeup on the Differences between the Late 2012 & Late 2013 models. As to what kind of SSD you can install its not the M.2 SSD standard Right now Apple is the only supplier of their custom blade SSD’s. Here’s a good write up on the Apple units The Ultimate Guide to Apple’s Proprietary SSDs What confuses people is the M.2 standard supports either mSATA or AHCI interfaces as well as the NVMe standard. But is not interchangeable between the two I/O standards PCIe and mSATA.

Bottom line here your iMacs SSD connection won’t support a M.2 based mSATA SSD.
