After a while of using the iFixit duel laptop drive, the hard drive now is making racket. It almost sounds like it is skipping in a way. I went ahead and replaced the hard drive with a new one and after about 2 weeks it started doing the same thing. Is this being caused from the hard drive not maybe being balanced?

Some MacBook Pro’s have an issue with the drive held in the optical drive caddy. The issue is not the caddy but the clocking Apple used on the optical drive port. You’ll need to get an older SATA II (3.0 Gb/s) fixed speed drive (drives which support multiple SATA speeds won’t work reliably).
