iMac 21.5 inch late 2013 Hello Folks I bought an imac late 2013 which has a 21.5 inch screen with 256 gb SSD installed. As much as i know this ssd id pcie so there is a free sata slot inside which i can install another ssd or hard drive in 2.5 inch form. I watched the videos and i know that i can install the harddrive as long as the sata and power cables are plugged in to the logic board. Because my configuration is SSD only i wonder if apple placed the sata and power cords plugged in ? Because if they arent plugged in i will have to tear down the system further more which i dont want to do…
Well it depends on if the SSD is mSATA card which is installed on the back of the logic board or a straight SSD drive installed in the normal hard drive slot. If it is the card in back there should be little problem installing a normal hard drive. Just get the adhesive strip kit to remount the screen.
