  1. How easy is it to remove the hard disk?
  2. Will the 12.5mm 1TB hard drives fit inside? The ‘plural’ comes from thinking about the server version which I bought. Thanks.

Update (06/18/2016) I’ve just swapped out my Hitachi 750GB for a Samsung 2TB SSD (AUS$850). http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/memor

Samsung’s 640GB 9.5mm hard drive http://www.samsung.com/global/business/h… Seagates 750GB 9.5mm hard drive http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/product… Western Digital’s 750GB 9.5mm hard drive http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products….

No, the largest that can fit is a 500GB drive.

Kermit and Rab are both right. 1 tb drives currently cannot be used in the mac mini as they are 12.5mm, and someone tried it and basically broke something (I forgot what). The largest drives you can put are 750 Gb drives and since ifixit doesn’t sell it, you can find it here for $114 as of June 24th, 2010 and price drops 40% or 30% every year.

At today is possible? The samsung HM100UI is only 9,5mm

What about the new Western Digital 9.5mm Scorpio Blue 1TB? http://www.engadget.com/2011/07/31/wds-9… Or the Toshiba 9.5mm MQ01ABD 1TB? http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/02/toshi… Has anyone tried or tested them yet?
