I have problem with my screen half of it is only a shadow and show only the upper one.
I’d suspect a LCD failure but before buying a screen you could verify the LVDS (video) cable connection to the main board and to the LCD panel and if you have the Apple miniDVI to VGA/DVI adapter you could also connect the MB to an external monitor to check the GPU (graphic processor unit) but IMO you logic board should be good.
