i replaced a screen but it had a black line across it so i sent it back (i got scammed and didnt receive the refund at all but thats a different story) so i put the original screen back on which is cracked and some of the glass has fallen off exposing the digitizer. The phone was fully working without a problem, then i put it in my bag and the home button stopped working, later on that day the top half of the scree stopped working as well so i cant turn the phone of or login with my password or fingerprint. i have ordered a new screen which will come soon (hopefully tomorrow or day after that). my question is do i have long screw damage as i think its a possibility, however i dont think so as it worked and then stopped working. or was it the screen faults or another possibility was it the metal plate behind the screens fault? All of the connectors look fine on the motherboard screen and metal plate that goes behind the screen look fine. i will keep this thread updated after i attempt replacing the screen again. thanks
Long Screw Damage…probably not. The typical symptoms will be no display or blue screen of death. When you remove the screen, take a close look at the screws and their placements. If a long one is where a short should be then you may be in trouble of you torqued them down. Anything is possible but I would suspect that your screen is severely damaged and causing these issues.
