Model # un65mu6500f we had a power outage this weekend and tv won’t turn on. No stand by redlight as well. I have unplugged and waited for 1 minute and plugged back in still no result. Unplugged held power button for 1 minute and plugged back in and still no result. This tv is less than 4 months old since purchase . How can I fix
Hi @ Jeramie Jones. Have you proved that the power outlet is working? If the TV was connected to a powerboard, connect it directly to a power outlet and then check if it works. Was the TV on (not just in standby mode) at the time of the power outage? If not then hopefully the outage may have only damaged the power board in the TV and not any other boards. First if you have it, I would check your household contents insurance policy to see if you have cover for appliances that failed due to power outages or storms etc. (was the outage caused by a storm?) If you do and it is follow it up with your insurer. If you don’t have insurance or it is not covered for this type of event, suggest that you disconnect the power from the TV and remove the back cover and inspect the power board (one connected to the power cord connection) for any obvious damage such as burnt/blown components or a ruptured fuse.
