Hello everybody! I recently repaired my broken/constantly depleting iPhone 4 battery using this iPhone 4 Battery Replacement instruction. After exchanging the parts and not touching anything with my bare hands I reassembled the device. Afterwards I had a pretty bad reception but it was manageable. Following the tip to degrease the connecting parts with a degreaser such as Windex, I got my self a window cleaner, sprayed it on a towel made sure it is just a little bit wet and swiped it over the connection points (of the pressure contact). Now I don’t have any reception. Is there anything else I can try to improve my reception. Did I use to few of the degreaser or is it possible that it left some “protective” coat on top of the metal. If so is there a possibility to get it off? I didn’t touch anything else. Wifi and GPS works fine. I hope you can give me some advise!
Solved the problem.. I did touch something else. I accidentally removed lower antenna connector up off its socket on the logic board when I removed the battery. It stayed in place but it was really loose. Now it’s back on and I have full signal strength again. :) See Step 11 here iPhone 4 Logic Board Replacement I cleaned everything with cleaning-benzine and gloves to make sure its completely degreased. Hope this helps someone if he encounters the problem. If the problem persists one should also check the really small blue inductor that is on the left side of it (hidden under the logic board cable) but of course there is more on that in other threads.
