My washer has these grounded-up plastic pieces in the pump filter and clothes after washing with our KM Elite HE3t and it knocks. Any suggestions? My research suggests that the knock is due to a failing tub bearing, there are no leaks. Update (01/14/2020) Model #: 110.42924202 The ground plastic light to dark gray.
Based on your symptom and details, the drum bearing has most like worn out, or the basket support broke causing the spin basket to wobble and rub into the front half of the outer tub. The good thing is that the tub has a limited 10-year warranty and the spin basket has a limited lifetime warranty. The basket and tub will be free of charge but you will be responsible for the service fee of $129.00 which includes the labor. It would definitely be cost effective to have your washer repaired instead of looking for a replacement. I recommend calling Sears at 1-800-4MY-HOME or 1-800-469-4663 and setting up a service appointment to have your washer repaired. I would also let the person know the model number and that it’s going to need the spin basket and the front and rear tub assemblies. If the bellows is damaged, let them know that too, however you will have to pay for the bellows.
