I got home and I forgot I had my MacBook charging on the carpet . I came back and it was kind of hot underneath . I turn it on to find a flashing folder with a question mark . I shut it down and then boot it back up but only stalls on a black greyish screen with no loading prompt or Apple . I took it to Apple and the commands wouldn’t work . They didn’t really tell me the problem , only that they would have to do a repair . Help please !
If Apple couldn’t give any answer with your Mac in front of them it’s pretty difficult someone can help over the net without any testing..it could be really anything that’s gone bad if there was prolonged overheating. I guess you have already tried the SMC and Pram resets, right ? In the best of cases, if resets didn’t change the picture, chances are pretty high you have a logic board failure. Do you have tools to access the inside to inspect if there’s any evidence of damage ?
Give it 5 to 10 hours is a cool place and try to turn it on again.
