My macbook 2012 turnson then a logo and loading bar comes on on the loading bar finishes then the computer shuts off Went into Disc Utility and its says “live file system repair is not supported” What is this and what can I do ??
Do you still have your recovery CD/DVD that came with the system? If you do you’ll need to boot up with it or if you have an external HD or thumb drive that is setup as bootable with the needed OS-X version your system needs you can also do it that way. Basically think of it this way you can darn your sox when you’re wearing it! In this case we need to be running the OS off a different drive so Disk Repair can be used to repair your internal disk. OK, you’ve found the recovery disk or have a bootable external disk. From recovery CD/DVD the menu you should offer you a utilities option run Disk Utilities from there. If you have a bootable drive you’ll need to go to the Utilities folder and run Disk Utility from there. Repair the disk and the disks permissions. If you have anything that you don’t have a backup of, make a copy now just in case!
