I have a 3 year old LG TV model 65LB5200 LED TV. For the last 3 months it has been slow to turn on. Green power light comes on, yet it was taking longer and longer to come on. Last week, turned TV on-Green power light came on, but no picture or sound ever came on. sucks. I replaced the entire power board with a new board thinking it was a bad capacitor. Nope. Still doing it. Green light is steady, no picture no sound. The Tv will not turn off to a red light either. always a green light no matter how many times i unplug or replug it. no way to reset it? Main board? T-con? a cable?
@timmy42483 since you’ve already replaced the power board, the next check would be the Main board. You do want to check for obvious damaged components as well as the voltages that go from your PSU to the main board.
I have this exact problem. Leading up to completely no screen, about 3 yrs into the TV, the screen occasionally had faded picture for hours, then after turning off TV for the night, next day would be OK. Then the problem came back again a week later, the screen looked dim again. Eventually, after 4 yrs, the screen finally went black when trying to turn on. Green light is constantly on, but no picture no sound. When I opened the back cover, I can hear very faint ticking/tapping sound coming from the left side of the TV. Visually no capacitor is blown, as I found people suggested to look on the internet. As it turns out, my TV had a bad ‘digital board’ through trial and error of replacing the boards. The digital board is next to the main board, a smallish green square board on the opposite side of the beige power supply board. Part number is 5800-H58E38-MP10 . Update (02/22/2020) Found a replacement on eBay for under $35. Took the old one out, put the replacement in. Viola, screen came on!
