i plug it in and iit dont work it powers on then i push play and the lites flash than off

If you still see orange and green, your iPod shuffle may need service.” It seems that the Mac solution to this is to:

  1. as with the PC go to your ipod setttings and enable disk use
  2. Quit Itunes and open Disk utility
  3. Click on your ipod and reformat(from the ERASE tab) to FAT32
  4. Open up itunes and restore the ipod and the PC is to use windows explorer to format the Ipod. Format as FAT and then afterwards start Itunes and use the reseting feature. Hope this helps.

You will get flashing green and amber lights if you try to play Audio-Podcasts and you have the switch set to “shuffle”. The switch must be set to the position: “play in order”.

if i restore my ipod, “the ipod could not be restored. an unknown error occurred (1442)”. can i fix it?
