hello, i have iphone5. i tried updating the os to 8.1.2 in itunes from my laptop. then i got an error after the download and i cannot open my phone anymore. all i have is the blck screen and the prompt that says Connect to Itunes, What should I do? Thanks!
Hi Avey, Try re-booting your phone: press & hold Home Button & Power Button together for 12 seconds or until iPhone restarts. If you still see “Connect to iTunes,” go to next step (restore your iPhone) but note that everything on your phone will be erased and that you will need your Apple ID and Password in case Find-My-iPhone was ON: 1/ make sure you have the latest iTunes version on your laptop & an original lightning-to-USB cable. 2/ on your iPhone: press & hold Home Button & Power Button together for 12 seconds; release the Power Button but keep pressing the Home Button for another 15 seconds (you are attempting to access DFU mode); 3/ you should again see “connect to iTunes”; re-connect your phone to your laptop; 4/ launch iTunes if it doesn’t do it on it’s own, 5/ you should see that it detected an iPhone in restore mode; you’ll be prompted to “restore” your iPhone. Accept this option which will allow your laptop to download the latest iOS & install it on the iPhone. Depending on the speed of your Internet connection, this may take from several minutes up to several hours. Leave your phone connected until it finishes downloading and restoring.
