2008 Yamaha 48 volt electric golf cart model YDRE backs up at full speed. When switched to forward a click is heard and golf cart starts forward but immediately dies. 2nd forward attempt has same result. 3rd forward attempt gives no click and no movement. Batteries are four 12 volt with measured voltage at 48.2. The forward reverse function is controlled by an electric switch.
You have one solenoid that puts power through your forward/reverse switch. If it’s a mechanical switch with a lever, that part needs to be replaced. If it’s an electrical switch like a little rocker switch then your controller is bad. Depends on what kind of forward/reverse switch you have.
