After dropping my iphone the screen is dim all the time. I can’t set it to be bright. I have tried calibrating it but it doesn’t help. I have even tried replacing the LCD and that doesn’t help either. Does anyone know if there is a specific cable that can be broken? Or is it maybe the motherboard? Grateful for all tips!
This is a belated answer so hopefully it can be of use to folks who search for and find this question. This sounds to me like the backlight circuit was damaged due to the drop. If you only have partial control of the dimming, for example just the bottom third or half of the range, that is usually a damaged coil in the BL circuit. If you have only the lowest dimness, then it may be the IC which has a broken solder ball. This would require a micro-soldering repair. If the screen is essentially dark, the the BL circuit is either not working at all or a flex or the actual backlight module are damaged.
