My GE washer having grinding noises during detergent dispensing cycle. Can it be DIY? and what parts do it needs? Thank you.
Hi @btjc Don’t know the washer but looking at the mini manual (i.e. tech sheet) in Field Service Mode Test #8 it mentions testing the fabric softener dispenser by operating a valve. Perhaps the valve is faulty - vibrating. The only “valve” mentioned in the parts list is known as the hot water valve - part #WH23X29538 shown as part #140 Controls and dispenser diagram, so I’m not sure if this is it or not, but it looks more than just a single “hot water” valve as it seems as though there are 4 solenoid coils in the assembly. This is confirmed by the wiring diagram in the mini-manual - see image below, showing the valves’ connection to the control board
