Maybe a dumb question, but the front glass is shattered, but I don’t know the official name for that part? (1) Front panel assembly, (2) LCD, or (3) LCD shield plate?

Hello Bryan The only stupid question is the one not asked! The official name for that part is “iPad Mini/Mini 2 Digitizer” this part controls the touch. Keep in mind, the iPad mini and iPad mini 2 use the same digitizer so you don’t get confused when looking for the part. The LCD is the actual display/picture itself. If your going to attempt the repair yourself and don’t have advanced soldering skills, make sure you order the Digitizer with the IC attached. You’ll need the IC to do the repair.
