A customer has an iPhone 6 Plus, and the front facing camera is only displaying a black screen. The app opens and works, and the rear facing camera works normally. They said the phone was left in the park, and when they got it back the front camera was malfunctioning. Would it be possible to fix this with a flex cable replacement or is there something else that could be the problem?

The first thing to try is a replacement FCAM/Sensor flex. this is a pretty easy DIY repair, just follow this guide. Now the question here is what happened exactly in the park. Was it wet or did it drop? At this point, try replacing the camera. If it doesn’t work, then there may be some internal damage due to physical impacts or water and that may require a micro-soldering repair.
